"Aerial flight is one of that class of problems with which men will never have to cope" |
| Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway. Flying dreams mean that you're doing the right thing with your life. Flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying. I don't have a fear of flying; I have a fear of crashing. In my opinion, we should search for a completely different flying machine, based on other flying principles. It's only when you're flying above it that you realize how incredible the Earth really is. The essential is to excite the spectators. If that means playing Hamlet on a flying trapeze or in an aquarium, you do it. The good thing about flying solo is it's never boring. The time to worrying about flying is when you're on the ground. When you're up in the air, it's too late. No point in worrying about it then. When you launch in a rocket, you're not really flying that rocket. You're just sort of hanging on. |
